About Us

Field Crew Ltd supply crew to work on boutique accommodation sites across the UK. Our Deputy Site Managers help manage the construction, furnishing and dismantling of wooden and canvas structures at various sites over the summer season. Our main client is Podpads.

Deputy Site Managers

  • Manage a site and a team of construction workers
  • Help take responsibility of the whole site, including build, event days & breakdown
  • Effective communicator and remain cool under pressure
  • Possess strong organisational and motivational skills
  • Have practical experience and are comfortable with heavy-lifting
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weathers

Contract

  • Deputy Site Managers are required to work 1 x on call shift over the weekend in exchange for an event ticket.
  • Usually required to work a maximum of 3 x 4 hour reception shifts in exchange for an event ticket
  • Food is provided on the set up and breakdown days
  • Sites are located across the UK. We provide free transport from our HQ near Bath and drivers can earn extra money on our driving rate.

Construction & Breakdown:

  • Working closely with the Site Manager to liaise with event organisers, help prepare the site and forklift stock off lorries
  • Help manage the site crew and construction of structures efficiently and to set deadlines
  • Sign off the site in accordance with specifications and H&S documentation
  • Help organise the dismantling of all units and stock before clearing the site

During the Event:

  • Be the secondary point of contact on-site to the event organisers.
  • Help oversee the smooth running of reception by supporting the reception manager.
  • Help prepare the site and crew for the breakdown.

Working conditions

  • Deputy Site Managers camp in the boutique campsite for the build, event + breakdown. 
  • The crew campsite contains electricity, water, communal area, seating and toilets and showers during the event.

Requirements

  • Due to the leadership and organisational skills required for this work, applicants must detail relevant experience if they want to be considered
  • Please state what licences, if any, you hold: driving, towing, forklift (telescopic handler and rough terrain forklift)
  • You work in a team so it is imperative that you have strong interpersonal skills and are a team player
  • You need to be comfortable camping on-site for days at a time and provide your own tent, bedding and waterproofs
  • You need to provide your own PPE including steel toe-capped footwear and hi-vis
  • You must prove that you have the legal right to work in the UK and, if haven’t done so already, register as self-employed. We can provide advice on how to do this.
